"Pain"

Today I’m grateful for… pain,

The kind that lets you know you’re growing,

I mean… yeah it’s uncomfortable,

But it’s also reassuring.

Sometimes pain is there

To let you know you’re getting stronger

& I know it’s hurts, but if you hold it

Just a little longer… you realize

It’s not as heavy as it seemed

And some pain is only temporary

And waiting on your release

See sometimes pain is a teacher

A compass, a guide

Leading you to all the things

You didn’t know you had inside

So today I want to say thank you pain

Thank you for growing us stronger

And for showing us what we’re made of

Thank you for all those nights that we cried

And for all those silent battles we survived

I finally understand why they say

“No pain, no gain”

Without you

Life literally couldn’t be the same

So thank you God for everything

And Today

I thank you for pain.
